It is The Home & Garden Centre’s policy to:
- Assess the environmental performance and impacts of current and potential products and suppliers
- Encourage the use of (and feature products that use) timber from either sustainable local forests or certified legal and sustainable sources, in line with CPET guidelines.
- Minimise the environmental impacts associated with product packaging.
- Provide customers with information on environmental issues to help them make informed decisions about the products they buy from The Home & Garden Centre.
- Reduce, reuse and recycle waste within The Home & Garden Centre and encourage suppliers and customers to do the same.
- Use energy efficiently and investigate the potential to purchase energy from renewable sources.
- Use transport efficiently, where possible.
- Use water efficiently.
- Prevent pollution, where possible.
- Where practicable, encourage the use of, and use, materials that have least impact on the environment.
- Comply with all relevant environmental legislation.
- Comply with the Group Environmental Policy, in-line with Green Dragon Environmental Performance certification and ISO:14000 International Standard for Environmental Management certification.
- Introduce environmental training to increase colleague and supplier awareness.
