Summers Evening

This painting is one of the artist's favourite coastal scenes. It was inspired by wonderful light effects on the sand dunes at Freshwaterwest. This Pemrokeshire beach is a very popular with surfers as the waves are usually sizeable and exciting.

Infact the conditions are so good that the World Surfing Championships have been held here.

This coastal scene lends itself very well to the composition of a painting because one's eye is taken through the dunes and out to see.
