Solar Panel Heating Kits - meeting national standards
SolarFire’s advanced design was developed by our experienced solar-heating experts, who ensured the panels are made from 100% recyclable materials that have minimal environmental impact. SolarFire panels come with a comprehensive 10-year guarantee, are accredited to the EN12975 standard and have been awarded the prestigious ‘Solar Key Mark’. As they are all built in the UK at a BS EN ISO 9001-2000 factory, you can be completely assured of their quality.
Cut energy costs with these unique solar heating kits
Why not join the energy revolution by using free solar energy? Simply install our solar panels and you can enjoy big savings on domestic hot water, warm swimming pools and under-floor heating. Heating water using sun energy saves significant fossil fuels, reduces ‘greenhouse’ gas emissions and could cut your water heating bills by up to 70%*. So if fuel prices rise in the future, so will your savings.
Save money now and long term
Our panels offer short and long-term savings. They are UK-manufactured which not only reduces shipping costs but also makes SolarFire products lower in price than many imported evacuated solar tube panels and the less efficient flat-plate systems. With your hot water energy bills reduced by up to 70% depending on your location and sun energy, the panels should pay for themselves within five years, excluding installation*.
Easy installation minimal maintenance
The lightweight (32Kg) panels can be installed horizontally or vertically. The tubes can be rotated for maximum energy collection; flat roof installations may require a mounting
frame. The SolarFire system includes the solar collector, pump, header tank and photo-voltaic panel to power the controller or whole system*. Water passes through our unique heat exchanger on the hot water tank and can be plumbed into any system, given suitable access.
What savings can these solar heating systems contribute?
|
Typically flat-panel systems deliver 50% to 60% savings, while an evacuated-tubes system like this system can save massive 60% to 70%.
|
Also it must be understood that by percentage of saving, we mean percentage of hot water requirements. Below are just some of the factors, which need to be taken into consideration when considering the energy saving equation.
-
At what latitude is the house situated?
(Scotland – Cornwall?)
- How big is the house?
- Which way does it face?
- How many people use the hot water and how much?
- What sort of cylinder is currently used to store hot water?
- Are you expecting to supplement the central heating bill?
The answer is a combination of energy savings as a percentage of a “Water heating requirements” plus the cost of the panels and the complete installation. This gives you the payback time.
The cost and installation for a 2-panel solar heating system, excluding a replacement cylinder should fall inside the Government’s current recommendation of £3,000-£4,500 if you include the price of a replacement hot-water cylinder.
The 2 panel solar heating kit falls into this price bracket. When matched against other products, these solar panels have the shortest payback time possible. Given the above type of installation the customer can expect a realistic payback time of up to 8 to 10 years. Put into perspective when comparing that figure against double-glazing which has an expected payback time of around 40 years. If you are able to get a government or local grant, then the payback time could be as little as 5 years depending on the grant amount you qualify for.
The Solar Collector explained:
Each solar collector consists of 12 tubes and weighs only 32kgs, and each tube weighs 2.2kgs. The mounting frame weighs just 6kgs.
Single system dimensions: - Length: 1650mm Width: 1400mm depth 150mm.
These solar heating kits can be mounted vertically or horizontally, flat and even wall mounted. The panels solve many of the problems relating to installations where the house does not face south.
Because the tubes are mounted in a sturdy lightweight frame, each solar tube can be rotated through 90º to take best advantage of the sun.
The system pump can be powered by sunlight using PV panels with a 12-volt system or a standard mains water pump. Our engineers are always on hand to advise the best approach.
The system is rated at 1 bar, making it ideal for integrating into most domestic systems.
The solar heating systems support frame comes in six basic colours, (including a chrome metal finish), to match slate or tiled roofs. This allows the system to blend unobtrusively into the roof.
After a snowfall when the sun is shining, the unique design of this solar heating system allows snow to fall through the frame onto the roof leaving the system fully functional. The evacuated tubes are unaffected by ambient temperature with an operating range in normal condition up to 65ºC+. Special installations up to 95ºC. They are freeze protected to -20ºC with 25% food grade glycol.
Tubes are spaced on 110mm centres preventing shadows from the adjacent tubes and increasing overall solar energy collection plus the added functionality of rotating the tubes to align with the sun. Even when the tubes are flat mounted the tube alignment ensures maximum energy collection. This is another reason why these solar heating systems are probably the most versatile systems available on the market today.
Should there be a parts failure after installation, these can be replaced quickly and simply by the installer. Example: should a tube fail or for some reason break, a single tube can be changed within 15 minutes, not including reaching the system on a roof. Please note that this is extremely unlikely as the product passed the arduous EN 12975 accreditation tests.
